Is it possible to feel something like a congeniality of spirit to a building? "Yes," say Marion and Michael Osmann. Because that's exactly what the entrepreneurial couple felt when they themselves were guests at Schloss Haggenberg for the first time. "A dinner in the ballroom, classical music, flickering candles, and a suckling pig in front of a large open fireplace. It was like being in another realm and yet felt like coming home."

The beginning of a great love. As with the acquisition of the castle, a lifelong dream came true for the Osmann*s. Schloss Haggenberg—where they now live together with the previous owner Horst Wächter and his nephew Dario—"fascinates us with its interplay between glory and decay, fine traditional craftsmanship and pragmatic improvisation over centuries. We appreciate the old walling and its history. For us, the castle is the epitome of the Japanese Wabi-Sabi philosophy, which rests in the fact, that true beauty is based upon the acceptance of impermanence and imperfection. Everything is already always there, it wants to be seen, understood, and used."

The Osmann*s. The name has stood for respectful, sustainable work with historical building materials for 25 years. Michael designs his renovations and conversions, revitalizations, and new buildings with partly historical materials, incorporating traditional and historical craftsmanship. Marion, influenced by the stage and costume world of theatre, refines rooms with selected interiors and designs walls sometimes also with her own photographic art, literally named ’dream-like’ wallpaper. The recognition and orchestration of hidden beauty is what they both love to do. With the acquisition of Haggenberg Castle, the Osmann*s aim to share the authentic, unspoiled structure of the house, with its frescoes and figural decorations dedicated to Greek antiquity, as a place to meet like-minded people. They enjoy being hosts!
